Youth Olympics hiring begins

15 Dec 2009
Some of the most important hiring is already underway for the upcoming Summer Youth Olympic Games. The inaugural event will feature young athletes (aged 14 to 18) from around the world.

Ensuring the event runs smoothly will be the job of several hundred project staff, many of whom have already been sourced. Adrian Tan, Managing Director of Recruit Plus Consulting, says his firm has been chosen as the exclusive HR partner of DHL Supply Chain which is handling the event logistics. He says he and his team will be working hard throughout the New Year to get the best staff on side.

“We are expecting to hire 38 people for this project, starting incrementally from January, 2010,” he said. “It comprises of a mix of Administration Assistant, Coordinator, Operations Executive, Logistics Supervisor, and Logistics Assistant roles.”

The Youth Olympic Games will be one of a number of flagship events on Singapore’s tourism calendar next year. “Just like the F1 Grand Prix, or any other event that will capture international attention, the (games) will bring both short term gains and long term visibility for Singapore.”
