Housewarming party

11 Mar 2010

The first workers for the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) integrated resort have begun moving into the buildings. Employees from the Food & Beverage, Hotel Housekeeping, Facilities and Information Technology divisions were the first to move into the so-called "Heart-of-House" area, located below the hotel towers. Thousands of staff will move into the property by the end of April.

“This move is more than a physical shift. Our team will bring Marina Bay Sands to life over the next few weeks as we prepare to welcome the world to Asia’s most magnificent destination,” MBS CEO and President Thomas Arasi said.

The kitchens at MBS will start cooking their first meals this week. MBS staff will be treated to hot cooked lunches, ranging from an international to local fare. The two team member dining rooms can seat up to 700 people each and will have flat screen televisions and internet stations.

They will operate around the clock to deliver 7000 meals daily once the property opens.  That’s around 2.5 million staff meals every year.
