Hugely excited to be exclusively partnering with an award-wining & ethically conscious global Financial services provider on appointment for their first Head of HR, based in the Philippines.  An exciting new territory due to growth. The organisation is flat, agile, ethically driven and passionate about supporting developing countries.

The desired candidate comes with MNC experience, a 360 generalist skillset needed to help set the new location up from scratch, along with a global mindset.  A strong leader that isn’t shy of rolling up their sleeves to get basics in place.  A incredible opportunity to build a new market and grow and lead a new team and set the people agenda. The new Head of HR has the very exciting remit of building and shaping a new territory and managing all people related aspects for a new office from scratch in collaboration with the business. From day one, you will adopt a commercially focused approach to HR solutions.  This will initially involve the setting up new HR practices and processes from in line with local legislation and global cultural aspects of the wider business.  This financial services organisation has a flat feel, is agile, has big ambitions and is ethically minded.

Initial Accountability for an exciting new office set-up!:

  • Help start in the set-up of the new office: covering all people related aspects
  • Ensure business success: sit as part of the Leadership team in helping shape and drive the people strategy for the Philippines
  • Ensure HR governance: from a financial services and regulatory perspective
  • Ensure Risk & Compliance is in place
  • Set up new HR Policies frameworks and guidance: with local, regulatory and global alignment
  • Recruit, build, develop & retain people/teams
  • Develop and maintain a HR budget
  • Set up new vendor relationships: Payroll / Office Management / Recruitment etc
  • Engage with Global Heads of HR/Business Partners: to ensure effective delivery of HR and people plan
  • Organisational design: design a new operating model for the new location
  • Lead workforce planning and delivery of resources: to bring specialist expertise into finance global process areas and, as transformation delivery is rolled out lead the organisation design

People Strategy

  • Develop and champion the People strategy and people priorities that enable sustainable growth and performance
  • Support the business in identifying and building organisational capabilities, behaviours
  • Support the continuous review of relevant operating models for alignment to the overall business strategy

HR Business Partnership

  • Proactively form credible relationships to influence relevant decision-making
  • Engage with, coach and support stakeholders in configuring and deploying people policies, products and processes to drive engagement and business performance
  • Act as a change agent and key enabler in helping to drive global and/or function specific change initiatives
  • Support Global People Forums for Finance in line with business needs
  • Collaborate with relevant HR stakeholders on all people related matters across to drive consistent strategies, processes and messages at regional/country/global level.

People Processes

  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes
  • Ensure effective management of operational risks & compliance with policies, external laws & regulation


  • Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values
  • Develop and embed a high performance culture
  • Develop talent to ensure a high quality succession pipeline at all levels

Risk Management

  • Understand the risk and control environment in HR’s area of responsibility and drive rectification as required
  • Provide oversight of complex ER issues
  • Support the effective implementation of Risk Management framework within the role remit

HR Governance

  • Embed the values and code of conduct in line with ethics, policies, processes, culture & regulations
