Regional Talent Operations Analyst

This is a newly created role to help support the Regional Talent & HR team and its operations for MWG APAC.  The main focus of the role is on compensation and benefits, however the role will also give you exposure and involvement with the entire Employee Life-Cycle, as it is a highly collaborative team and the opportunity to get involved in a variety of talent initiatives is large.  This role will report directly to the Regional Chief Talent Officer (RCTO).
This role requires a great level of maturity as the individual will be responsible for keeping the confidentiality of all compensation in the Region and will require the person to interact regularly with senior level staff from across the Region as well as globally with MWG WW and IPG.  The role also requires someone who is well organized, manages his or her time well and can work autonomously.
This role will give the individual the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base in the areas of strategic compensation practices, international taxation, international pensions, insurance and staff cost optimization.  This person will support the RCTO in the execution of initiatives on talent retention, appraisal, performance management, promotion, learning and development and administering the rewards program that is in line with the people priorities and business strategies.
  • Secure an in-depth knowledge of MWG and IPG compensation programs and practices, and develop a full understanding of individual executive compensation components and packages.
  • Liaise with each country to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the regional compensation database.
  • Track short and long-term incentive information for the regional executive population, and assist RCTO in analysis and communications of such information to regional finance, Worldwide HR, IPG, and key executives.
  • Secure (or continue to develop) a strong knowledge of taxation rules and practices across the region and major global markets to be able to utilize those skills in creating compensation comparisons for transfers and new hires.
  • Develop country and region wide salary frameworks that ensure compensation is effective and equitable.
  • In conjunction with the RCTO, develop compensation proposals for all international hires & transfers within the APAC region.
  • Be the central contact point for expatriate issues, oversee and provide expert operational delivery of mobility and deployment services to expatriates and stakeholders in the business.
  • Responsible for the administration of Regional & Worldwide compensation survey submissions and analysis.  Make recommendations for addressing market issues with various business units.
  • Work in conjunction with the RCTO and Service Providers on tax issues for executives.
  • Keep an up to date knowledge of external rewards environment, including best practice and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure that all legislative changes are effectively communicated to the region and WW
  • Assist with any compensation related areas during internal and external audits.
  • Institute a system to track all benefits provided across APAC and align with compensation framework.
  • Assist countries in assessing and choosing the best service providers in conjunction with all stakeholders including IPG procurement.
  • Establish a best in practice benefits for a truly global mobile population, including insurance, pensions and other allowances.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies around new/modified benefit offerings.
Systems & Data:
  • You will be coordinating the HR related data submission and also implementing HR protocols and processes to assist with the data flow to/from People Soft and local payrolls.
  • As the subject matter expert for PeopleSoft HR system, you will put in place measures to monitor and control PeopleSoft data quality throughout the region and provide ongoing supports to the local HR teams
  • Work with WW IT on the design, roll-out and maintenance of other systems that are to be used in conjunction or in-lieu of PeopleSoft during the global PS roll-out.
  • Work with the Finance Directors and HR/Talent leads in each market on accurately tracking and reporting headcount at all levels and across all disciplines.
  • Do analysis on HC trends by market in comparison with other IPG companies and industry data.
  • Highlight and share HR data and trend analysis to the respective countries’ HR/Talent Leads to design and formulate appropriate policies and initiatives that are in line with the business strategy.
  • When necessary you will help in drafting contracts and letters involved with hiring and compensation programs.

To be successful in this role, you will either need to come in with the skills and experiences below, or be positioned to quickly master them:
  • 4-5 years experience analyzing multi market financial data – from, either a P&L or compensation perspective
  • Strong communication skills
  • High level of proficiency in analytical and statistical work
  • Experience in international environments and commercial experience in different markets and cultures would be a distinctive advantage.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders appropriately
  • Ability to work within the matrix environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Additional Asian language beneficial – Mandarin or Japanese would be highly valued
  • High level Microsoft Excel skills required
  • PeopleSoft experience a major plus
  • Business Intelligence software experience a plus
  • BS - Finance / Human Resources / Accounting / or related field
