Singapore is an ideal location for expats to move to, according to a latest annual Expat Explorer survey by HSBC.
The city-island has ranked top among Asian countries in terms of expat wealth and finances and second in the world in terms of income for expat employees.
According to results, half of the respondents said that they earn over $200,000 but benefit from low taxation with over three-quarters of expats (84%) spending less on it since relocation. Also, 51% stated that they have more disposable income since relocating, compared to 35% of expats, globally.
However, the study also highlighted that expats in Singapore need larger incomes in order to maintain their standard of living, due to the higher cost of living. They spend an increased amount on day-to-day living such as food (65%) and accommodation (82%).
