The Industrial Safety and Sanitation Act requires employers to implement safety and health management systems. Depending on the circumstances, including the size of the employer, this may include the requirement to appoint certain safety officers. The Act also deals with:

  • measures for preventing danger to employees;
  • regulations on machines and harmful substances;
  • measures to maintain and promote employee health; and
  • measures for creating a comfortable work environment.
