31 Mar 2009

The Employment Standards Act provides that an employer shall not engage in discriminatory treatment with respect to wages, working hours or other working conditions by reason of an employee’s nationality, creed or social status. The Equal Employment Opportunity Act prohibits direct and indirect discrimination on the grounds of sex in all stages of employment.

Employers are required under the Equal Employment Opportunity Act to establish measures to prevent sexual harassment and to deal with any issues that arise in relation to sexual harassment in the workplace.
